Flame Detection Devices for Gas and Oil Burners

Flame Detection Devices are a group of safety devices designed to detect and monitor the presence of a flame in burner systems. These devices include UV Flame Sensors, Photoresistors, and Ionization Electrodes, providing different flame detection technologies for gas burners, oil burners, and dual-fuel burners.

Operating Principle of Flame Detection Devices

Flame Detection Devices operate in conjunction with the Burner Control Unit throughout the entire burner operating sequence. After the burner completes the pre-purge and ignition sequence, the flame is detected by a UV Flame Sensor, Photoresistor, or Ionization Electrode. The detected flame signal is then transmitted to the Burner Control Unit to verify successful ignition and stable combustion.

During normal operation, the Burner Control Unit continuously monitors the flame signal received from the detection device. If flame failure, unstable flame signals, or abnormal operating conditions are detected, the controller immediately shuts off the fuel supply and activates Safety Lockout, minimizing the risk of fuel leakage while protecting the burner, combustion equipment, and the entire combustion system.
